It was Professor Günther, German doctor for tropical diseases and epidemiology, who was the first to point out the dangerous late effects of uranium-mantled projectiles.

Tons of this ammunition were shelled out by the US army. The film follows him and his American colleagues during their investigations in Kosovo, Bosnia and Iraq. After the end of the latest Iraq war they discovered in the surroundings of Basra contaminated areas, where the radio-active contamination was 20,000 times that of the earth's natural radiation.
