In Chicago, I had my Chicago_Geek's DEPLETED URANIUM interview with a 1991 Destroyer sailor after he told me he did not get DU exposure because he was way out on the water. My "Did you smell the oil smoke?" got his attention. My Honeywell Biomedical Electronics Technician factoid made his facial expression take a dive, "If you smelled the oil smoke, you have alpha particles in your lungs!
